Dark Erotic Magic, pt 1
The thin line between lust and devotion
Desire, when taken seriously, always finds its way to an altar of strange sorts. Nowhere is this more true or relevant than in ”dark” occultism—experimental, libido-driven, transgressive, and often highly psycho-sexual in essence.
We sometimes—quite often—pretend otherwise. We say we “have a crush,” “like their work,” “enjoy that body,” “appreciate the aesthetic.” Our vocabulary remains hygienic, as if lust were a mild appetite and admiration a harmless pastime. Yet beneath these polite words there moves something older, darker, and liturgical. To want someone—or something—too much is to risk entering a state that the ancients would have recognized at once: devotion.
